Certain cooking oils will stop you up with
constipation too. It has happened to me
time and again. This was when I noticed
how hard it was to clean some of it off my
stove and it was some sticky grease from it.
I switched to olive oil and I know doctors won’t
like it but some meat fats will clean you out.
It won’t gunk up like regular cooking oil.

I had chronic constipation that doctors couldn’t cure. I was able to manage by taking metamucil every day for years. I spent several months in Asia and my constipation was cured right away. I didn’t eat bread or dairy products t I believe Asian diet is better for colon health than US diet. Now back in US I try to minimize bread and dairy products and I am able to manage. Only one painful constipation episode (post milk/grain consumption) this year.
